Hale Center ISD

I started teaching at Akin Elementary in 2004.

This will be my 14 years.

I teach kindergarten.

Before teaching at Hale Center, I was a paraprofessional at La Mesa in Plainview, Texas

What really encouraged me to go to college we’re the people that I worked with at La Mesa.  

They were the best new friends I could have.  I was 42 and starting a new experience in a different profession.

It was the greatest idea I have every had for my life.

I have been married 44 years to a great man.  My husband and I graduated from Hale Center.  We have 3 children and they all went to school at Hale Center ISD.  All my grandchildren are going or have gone to Hale Center as well.

I have 5 dogs and 4 cats.  Also, a horse, a mini-horse and 7 goats.  You might say I like animals.

When I am not teaching, I enjoy visiting with my children and grandchildren.  I also have a great-grandchild his name is Hayden.

We love cooking out and enjoying laughing together.  It gets kind of crazy when we are all together.
